Body Piercing – The Ultimate Question !!!!!

Does It Hurt ?????

This HAS to be THE most asked question in our studio – which is not a bad thing but if I were taking 50p’s !!!! Wow, I’d be very rich indeed. ;0

Well, the answer to that question is………..It Depends !!!!
Everybody is unique, we all have different pain levels and what some of us may find painful, others may not. Also, some studios use topical anesthetics to freeze or numb the area being pierced and even the effects of this vary from individual to individual. Other factors often also come into play such as the area being pierced, the frame of mind of the individual and the skill of the body piercer all can play a role.

Placement: It is absolutely true that some areas of the body are more painful to be pierced than others, obviously areas such as the septum or daith being more likely than the navel for example.
Frame Of Mind: Your frame of mind is equally important. It is understandable to be nervous when getting a body piercing – we wouldn’t be human if we didn’t get nervous, but if you have worked yourself up into such a state about it that you simply cannot relax – then the whole process will often be worse than it needed to be. It’s a bit like falling down when we’re drunk !!! When we’re drunk and we fall we are much less likely to seriously hurt ourselves because we are relaxed. When we are stone cold sober, if we were to fall, we immediately tense up knowing that it’s going to hurt and it’s usually because of this that we end up hurting ourselves more than was necessary.
Piercers Skills: The other factor that we talked about was the skill of the body piercer – it goes without saying that you should always have your piercing performed by a professional with whom you feel comfortable. There are many, many, many good body piercers around, so it’s down to you to do your research.

At our studio, we aim to provide EVERYBODY with an enjoyable body piercing experience ;0)

E-Raze Tattoo Removal Information For Our Studio

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Due to many requests for tattoo removal, we started to provide this service in our studio in November 2004. Tattoo removal often was requested from anything from small indian ink tattoos to ex-partners names and so on. Whilst we found this kind of removal somewhat on the slow side, we did in fact see some very good results using this method of removal. The only down side to it was that the treatment period was quite unpredictable as many varying factors came into play. i.e. if the tattoo was professionally done or not, the age of the tattoo, the individuals bodies acceptance of the treatment etc. Therefore, this made advice on the complete removal time quite impossible. E-raze’s website claims that treatment CAN be effective in as little as 3-4 treatments, in reality though we never found this to be the case, it was often many more than that.

Having said all this, we did find the treatment effective.

Unfortunately, early on in 2007 it became increasingly difficult to obtain supplies of the treatment and so we decided so as not to disappoint future customers, we would stop offering this kind of removal service as once started a treatment we didn’t want to leave our clients with half a job done due to the difficulties of supplies.

We appreciate that our customers are still looking for a tattoo removal service and some simply cannot venture to the big cities in order to receive treatment on a regular basis and so we are therefore looking into other removal treatments. The most likely being laser.

However !!!!!  This isn’t as straight forward as it sounds as it seems a very lengthy and costly process to be able to offer this service for our customers. Training alone is very expensive (and there aren’t too many places offering it – finding the right training premises is an absolute must for our studio). Then there’s the type of laser machine to acquire – as it would seem that there are many, many different kinds and then there’s the cost. Not only for the training but also for the equipment. The machine itself is extremely expensive and so there are lot of factors to consider.

What all this means is that it may be quite some time (exactly how long obviously cannot be specified) before we may be able to offer tattoo removal treatments again. But, we are looking into it.
